   Arrival Day

   Greetings upon your arrival to Quito! This city boasts the title of the largest and best-preserved colonial city in America, and it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. Known as the Cultural Capital of South America, Quito is situated on the equator in a valley at the base of the Pichincha volcano. We will provide transportation to your hotel in Quito.

   Quito City Tour

   Following breakfast, we will embark on a journey to visit the most well-preserved historic center in America. As we explore this magnificent place, we will discover its fascinating history and marvel at its stunning architecture, including landmarks such as the Golden Church, Main Square, and San Francisco Square. For lunch, we will indulge in a unique culinary experience with a local chef who has been awarded a Michelin Star. In the afternoon, we will partake in a delightful chocolate tasting experience, where we will sample the finest chocolate produced in Ecuador, recognized with numerous awards for its exceptional quality and flavor.

   Cotopaxi National Park

   Early in the morning, we'll arrange for transportation to pick you up from your Quito hotel and take you to Hacienda El Porvenir (3600 m./11808 ft.). Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a welcome drink of your choice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and cheese empanadas. After a brief lesson on horseback riding, we'll embark on an exclusive path inside the hacienda, heading towards the dormant Rumiñahui volcano slopes. During our journey through the breathtaking Andean scenery, we'll encounter wild bulls, birds, and stunning landscapes. On a clear day, we'll be able to see 12 additional volcanoes from near the rocky peaks of Rumiñahui. We'll also make a stop at Chusigmachai, also known as the Owl Refuge, before making our way back to the farmhouse. The horseback riding portion of the trip will last approximately 5 hours, and a packed lunch will be provided. Afterward, we'll head to the town of Baños to visit the Swing of the End of the World, the location where the winner of the 2014 National Geographic photo contest captured their shot. You'll have plenty of time to take your own amazing photo with the stunning landscape as your backdrop.

   The road of waterfalls & Swing of the end of the world

   Following breakfast, we'll travel to Rio Verde, situated within the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Sangay National Park. Our destination is the awe-inspiring Pailon Del Diablo, the second highest waterfall in Ecuador, where the sound of crashing water against the rocks will captivate you as you cross the suspension bridge. For those feeling adventurous, there's an optional hike behind the falls. After a short drive, we'll arrive at the stunning El Manto de la Novia waterfall, where we'll take a cable car ride over the canyon of the Pastaza River. As Banos is known for its adventurous activities, you'll have the option to participate in various thrilling pursuits such as paragliding, cable cars, or tubing in the afternoon.

   During the morning, we will visit The Swing at the End of the World, where the winner of the 2014 National Geographic photo contest captured his iconic image. You will have the opportunity to take your own stunning photo with the breathtaking landscape as your backdrop. In the afternoon, you will have free time to enjoy optional activities in this extraordinary town.

   Travel from Ecuador to Colombia

   Today marks the end of our Ecuadorian adventure as we prepare to embark on an exciting journey to beautiful Colombia. Our first stop will be in Armenia, where we will head straight to Bio Habitat upon arrival. Here, you will have the opportunity to spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool and exploring the various facilities available at Bio Habitat.

   Cocora Valley

   Today, we will journey to the Cocora Valley, which is known for its towering wax palms, Colombia's national tree. You will have the opportunity to spend the morning trekking through the breathtaking scenery of the region, and may choose to hike for a few hours up to Acaime Reserve, where you can observe colorful hummingbirds. It's important to note that the hike to Acaime is quite challenging, with some steep and slippery sections, so be sure to wear sturdy walking shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks. A delicious local lunch will be provided. Alternatively, if you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can explore the valley at your own pace before we return to town via jeep. In the afternoon, we will explore the charming town of Salento, taking a leisurely stroll through its picturesque streets and admiring the vibrant colors of the 'paisa' architecture at its finest.

   اليوم، سنسافر إلى وادي كوكورا الشهير بأشجار النخيل الشمعية الشاهقة، والتي تعتبر شجرة كولومبيا الوطنية. ستحظى بفرصة قضاء صباح ممتع في الانطلاق في رحلة مشيّ قرب المناظر الطبيعية الخلابة، وربما ستختار التسلق لعدة ساعات إلى حديقة أكايم حيث يتغذى الطيور الطنانة الملونة. يجب التنويه إلى أن التسلق إلى أكايم يتطلب مجهوداً كبيراً، حيث توجد بعض المناطق الشديدة الانحدار والانزلاق، لذا يجب ارتداء أحذية المشي المتينة وإحضار الكثير من المياه والوجبات الخفيفة. سنقدّم لكم وجبة غداء شهية تقدمها الأهالي. بالطبع، إذا كنت تفضل الاسترخاء، يمكنك استكشاف الوادي بمفردك ومن ثمّ سنعود إلى المدينة بسيارة جيب. في فترة ما بعد الظهر، سنزور بلدة سالنتو الساحرة والتمتّع بنزهة هادئة في شوارعها الجميلة، وتقدير الألوان الزاهية للعمارة البيزا في أجمل حلّة لها.

   Coffee & chocolate tour

   Colombia is renowned for its tropical climate and fertile volcanic soil, which makes it one of the world's top producers of coffee and cacao. Today, we will embark on a chocolate tour where you can savor the delectable flavors of this addictive little bean. You will have the opportunity to explore a coffee plantation and processing center, delving into the history of the plant and gaining insight into the industry that has long fueled Colombia's economy. Witness the entire process from growing, harvesting, processing, drying, roasting, and grinding, and then taste the finished product for yourself. Sample various coffee varieties and learn how to prepare different types of coffee before enjoying a steaming cup of freshly brewed joe. After the tour, we will transfer to Pereira and catch a flight to Cartagena.

    City Tour Medellin

    After breakfast, we will take some time to explore Cartagena before heading to the airport. Our city tour will begin by taking a ride on Medellin's innovative transportation system to Comuna 13, a neighborhood that has been transformed from a community once controlled by cartels to a shining example of Colombia's progress in overcoming its notorious past. A local guide will accompany us as we ride on the city's unique public cable cars and outdoor electric escalators that have improved the lives of residents in this impoverished district by making their daily commutes safer and faster. We will explore this welcoming and safe urban neighborhood and enjoy panoramic views of the city from the top. We will then visit Plaza Botero to view the sculptures of Colombian artist Fernando Botero, which were donated to the museum for renovation. Our Pablo Escobar tour will start at pretty El Poblado Park and take us to the Monaco Building, which was the former residence of the infamous leader of the Medellin cartel. We will learn about the episodes that marked the organization's struggle for control of drug trafficking and how their main rival, the Cali cartel, once perpetrated an attack with a car bomb right next to this building. Although their main objective was to eliminate Pablo Escobar, he and his family were not in the block of apartments at the time. We will then visit the Montesacro cemetery, where Pablo Escobar's grave is the most visited in the entire cemetery, and learn some anecdotes that have inspired the TV series Narcos. Our next stop will be the iconic Barrio Pablo Escobar, where we will hear how Escobar launched his political career in 1983 in an effort to control the laws of the country and improve his image, which was being tarnished by press reports linking him to drug trafficking. We will also explore the building where he died and listen to various hypotheses about his death, including suicide, execution by the United States or Colombian forces, and betrayal by those he believed to be loyal.

    On this full-day tour, we will ascend the El Peñol rock formation, climbing numerous stairs to reach the top and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view. You will have plenty of opportunities to take stunning photographs. Afterwards, we will take a boat ride and tuk-tuk to the luxurious hotel for a delicious lunch. The colorful town of Guatape awaits us, with its houses painted and decorated in vibrant colors that reflect Colombia's rich culture and charm. Our Pablo Escobar tour will begin at the charming El Poblado Park, where we'll head to the Monaco Building, the former residence of the infamous leader of the Medellin cartel. We'll learn about the organization's struggle for control of drug trafficking and their rivalry with the Cali cartel. We'll visit the Montesacro cemetery, where Pablo Escobar's grave is the most visited, and hear anecdotes that inspired the TV series Narcos. Next, we'll visit the iconic Barrio Pablo Escobar, where he carried out various charitable works to improve his image as a dangerous drug trafficker. We'll tell you his whole story! The tour will end after a 4-hour exploration, at the starting point.
